Amanda's Apple Pie

This is my sister's apple pie recipe...  AMAZING!

2/3 c. sugar
3 T. flour
3/4 t. cinnamon
6 cups golden delicious apples sliced (about 5 med apples)
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 t. cinnamon
Pie crust

Preheat oven to 400.

In a small bowl, place the granulated sugar, 3 T. flour, and 3/4 t. cinnamon.  Stir to combine.  Spoon sugar mixture over cut apples.  Let the mixture stand.

In another bowl, place 1 c. flour, brown sugar, and 1/2 t. cinnamon.  Stir to combine.  Cut the butter into the flour mixture with a pastry blender until consistency of coarse crumbs.

Spoon the apples and accumulated juice into the pie crust.  Using a tablespoon, sprinkle the flour mixture over the apples.

Bake the pie from 50-55 min. After 15 minutes baking, drop and aluminum foil edge cover over the pie crust and lay aluminum foil loosely over entire pie..  After 15 min additional baking time, rotate the pie 180 degrees.  After 40 min total baking time check the browness of the edge.  Remove the foil from the top and bake for an additional 10-15 min.
